How To Get Your D-64 Contractors License

Our passion is helping contractors get their license.

Our passion is also baking golden pies. (only on the weekends)

But you’re here to learn more about how you can get your contractor license.

Getting your D-64 license is easy.

Honestly it suprises me everytime I read it.

In fact, I’m suprised how right now writing this out.

There’s only three requirements:

1. Must have 4 years of experience doing D-64 work

2. Must be over 18

3. Must have a valid SSN or ITIN

For more information regarding the requirements go to the CSLB website.

We’ve covered the prerequisites, and now it’s time to delve into the heart of obtaining your license.

Your next milestone is successfully passing the Law and Business exam.

Let’s be clear – there’s no sugarcoating this; it’s a tough test.

I’m not here to scare you, but I want to prepare you.

This exam is no walk in the park. Crafted by legal experts, it demands a solid grasp of contract law, bonds, liens, taxes, and more.

So, what’s the solution when you face a challenging test like this? The answer is simple: you enroll in a reputable educational program.

We’re here to help you get your license. Simple as that.

You could even say it’s our passion.

Now here’s how we do it:

1. Homestudy – Where you teach yourself using different books, videos and online materials.
2. Online – Tune into our live classes and participate online.
3. In Class – Join one of our schools for in person lessons and attention.

Each of our three courses will get you your license. It just depends how you want to go about. Say you prefer learning from an actual teacher. Then the in-class option would be best for you. Or maybe you prefer learning on your own at home. All good, though you would miss out when we bring in our freshly baked pies to class.

The best part of the content is just our simulated practice exams or online videos/audious but the custom written law book our CEO Allen Diaz wrote. After going through the 1,000+ page law book he condensed it to the essentials for what you need to know in a learnable way. That way you can focus your efforts on what is important for getting your license.

Give us a call if you have questions.

How do you verify your experience?

Ok, ok. You get it. Let’s move on.

How do you verify your experience?

Well it’s as simple as 1, 2, 3… 4, 5:

1. Receive Application upon enrollment

2. Complete application with basic information

3. Sign work experience

4. Submit and schedule test

Now before you get to the party stage you need to send off that application. The same application displayed below.

Once you do that and get it signed off. Then. Well that’s about it.. Simple really. You can send it to the CSLB through the mail.

After 4-8 weeks they will get back to you in order to schedule your test date.

And once you pass you can PARTY!

How to verify your work experience in order to get your California Contractor License

How long does it take?

Including the 4-8 weeks of processing the CSLB takes, you’re looking at 3 months from originally signing up to getting your license.

This is because we recommend sending your application off 1 month into the course to ensure you get you license as quickly as possible.

What’s the best business entity?

The best entiry for a contractor such as yourself starting their business is a S Corp.

They provide the best protection while also giving you the most tax savings. (they’re pretty dope)

The Contract Bond

This is important. True. But only after you pass the test.
