Step One: Apply

You have to apply to get your license. If you have four years of experience, you’ll be able to apply. When the state accepts your application, they’ll provide you with a test date.

You apply through the CSLB (the Contractors State License Board).

When you arrive at the testing location, you take two tests. One test covers construction law. The other test covers the trade in which you want to get licensed (which is the trade you have four years of experience in).

Step Two: Pass The Tests

The best way to pass the tests is to study for the tests. That’s where we come in.
