Did you know it’s possible to get your contractors license from home?

Well, almost completely possible.

Allow me to explain (and allow me to take several smoke breaks during the writing of this article. don’t worry, I don’t actually smoke. but I do like to take breaks. also, I’m switching to decaf. maybe. I’m kinda jittery right now. mostly because I’m so excited to explain to you how you can get your contractors license from home).

So California is home to many great things: endangered eagles, earthquakes, and the San Fransisco 49ers. And Los Angeles. And the Sonoma Valley (I think). And even Sacramento. Which is our state capitol.

So, you can’t technically get your license completely from home because you do have to take the CSLB tests.

WHAT ARE THE TESTS?

You have to pass two tests through the CSLB, and they administer them in person. One test covers construction law and one covers your trade.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE THE TEST?

Only this:

You have to have… hold up… taking a coffee break.

Okay, I’m back.

You have to have 4 years of experience in your trade to qualify for licensure.
Simple.

That’s about it.

And you have to have one person sign your application to verify you have the 4 years of experience.

So that’s pretty simple.

STUDY TIME

So, in order to pass the tests, you’ll probably want to study. And you can definitely study from home.

Then you take the practice tests.
There are practice tests in the book as well as online.

And, if you do all the work we provide for you, we can guarantee you’ll pass the tests. Unless you’re a carrier pigeon. If you’re a carrier pigeon, that would be weird. I’m not even sure how you would order our material or read. Or study, for that matter.

I just wanted to make that into a bullet point to emphasize the fact that if you pass our online practice tests we do, indeed-o, guarantee-o, that you’ll pass the state tests.
