All you need to know.
Test number 1. Law
There are a couple of things you need to do to get your C-16 license. First things first you need to pass two tests. The first one is an all-extensive law test covering taxes, contract law, business, liens and bonds.
Test Number 2. Trade
Here’s the second test. Trade. This is the second most important part of your license journey. Chances are you are more prepared for the trade exam than law because you have at least 4 years of experience. So you’re ready to go just. All you need to do is brush up and move forward.
How do I get started?

Requirements… Oh My!
There are just a few requirements in order to get the license.
1. You need to have 4 years of working experience.
2. Must be 18 years or older.
3. Must have an SSN or ITIN.
That’s it! Pretty simple. As long as you meet these requirements then there’s nothing stopping you from getting the license. All it takes is that first step, taking massive action. And guess what, that’s why we’re here, to help you take that action. Our passion is your success.
What about the APPLICATION?
Once you’re ready to take the test, we’ll help you send an application to the CSLB (Contractor State License Board).
In government fashion, it will take 6-8 weeks for the CSLB to get back to you (on average). From there you choose a test date and location (you do not need to take them on the same day). After passing you will be a licensed contractor. If you stay diligent and study hard, the entire process will take 3 months.
