Contractor License School
How To Pass Your G-B2 Test.
Getting your General B2 “General Contractors” License may be easier than you think.
The only pre-requisite–in other words, the only thing you have to have–is 4 years of experience doing General B2 type of work. (General B2 work is interior including bathroom remodeling, flooring, kitchen, etc…)
All you need to know.
What is the B2?
Opposed to a ‘B license’, B2 cannot take a contract to build from the ground up and exclusively do interior remodeling.
Test number 1. Law
There are two tests you need to take to get your General B2 Contractors License. The first one is a construction law test written by lawyers. It includes topics on contract law, bonds, taxes and liens. Loads of fun right.
Test Number 2. Trade
The second test is much easier, it is on the specific trade you are getting. This test will contain topics related to your trade. That being said it is typically much easier because, unlike the law, you work your trade every day. And have at least 4 years of experience so you’re ready to go.
How do I get started?
Our job at the contractor License School is to make sure you are equipped to take the test and become a successful contractor. We help you every step of the way. From educating you to pass your test, setting up your business entity, and advertising, we want to be a resource for you.
