Test number 1. Law
There are two tests you need to pass in order to get your license. But don’t worry, you’ll be more than prepared for both. The first one is on the topics of law and business. It covers everything from liens, contract law, bonds and even taxes.
Test Number 2. Trade
But you’re not just looking to just get knowledge in law. You’re here to get your license. That is why there is a second test on the trade. It will be specific to whatever license you’re tryign to get, in this case General Engineering (G-A). From our experience this test is much easier for contractors. Why? Because you already have at least 4 years of experience in that trade.
How do I get started?
Massive success takes massive action. That is why we started this school, in order to help contractors with that first step. Of course, you don’t need to go to a school. However, the chances of failing the tests increase greatly. And you’ll be missing vital information for contracting success.
Requirements… Oh My!
There are just a few requirements in order to get the license.
1. You need to have 4 years of working experience.
2. Must be 18 years or older.
3. Must have an SSN or ITIN.
That’s it! Pretty simple. As long as you meet these requirements then there’s nothing stopping you from getting the license. All it takes is that first step, taking massive action. And guess what, that’s why we’re here, to help you take that action. Our passion is your success.
What about the APPLICATION?
Once you’re ready to take the test, we’ll help you send an application to the CSLB (Contractor State License Board).
In government fashion, it will take 6-8 weeks for the CSLB to get back to you (on average). From there you choose a test date and location (you do not need to take them on the same day). After passing you will be a licensed contractor. If you stay diligent and study hard, the entire process will take 3 months.
