How many questions? The Test ranges from 110 to 120 questions.

How long is the exam? The exam duration is 3.5 hours.

First Things First.

Test number 1. Law

The CSLB knows all great things come through testing. That’s why they reqruire you to pass two tests in order to get your license. The first one is a Law test covering liens, bonds, contract law and taxes. The actual test is written by lawyers and stays updated but don’t worry we’re here to help you out.

Test Number 2. Trade

The second test is a trade test much easier than the first. Typically this is the case for all contractors because you already have 4 years of experience in the field you are testing for (in this case C-8 Concrete). So you’re already one step ahead on your studying and 4 steps ahead on your experience.

How do I get started?

Taking that first step is always the hardest. But it takes that first step to achieve massive success. We’d love to be that first step. Helping you achieve all your contracting hopes and dreams. All the way from studying the content, setting up your business, sending off your application.

There are a few things you should know…

1. You need to have 4 years of experience (the hardest part)

2. Must be 18 years or older (the easiest part)

3. Must have an SSN or ITIN (the average difficulty part)

You’re halfway to getting your license once you pass the requirements. So the only thing left for you to do is take massive action. ‘Get stuff done’ if you will. And that starts with taking the first step.

What about the APPLICATION?

Here’s where it gets tricky. The application is how you make the CSLB (Contractor State License Board) aware of your interest in getting your license. On the application, it tells them basic knowledge of your business and verifies your work experience.

Once you send it off through a letter it will take them 6-8 weeks to get back to you. Once they do you will receive options to schedule your test.
