3 MAIN REQUIREMENTS

IT’S ALMOST THIS SIMPLE.

1. Four years of experience doing C-57 work. (drilling wells, if you forgot what you’ve been doing these last many years).

2. You must be at least 18 years old.

3. You must have a valid social security or ITIN number.

4. You must prove that you love water. And also wells.

The 4th requirement is another attempt at a joke.

YOU MUST BE TESTED.

Not for Covid — but you must pass two tests: A Law Test and A Trade Test.

The trade test will contain questions pertaining to C-57 well drilling stuff.

The law test is the harder test (for most contractors).

TIME FRAMES?

How long does it take?

Typically it takes our students two months to complete the entire process.

Students who need/want to get their license sooner have been able to acquire it only one month — sometimes less.

It all depends on you.

You can technically study like crazy and get through all of our material and classes in a week.

Typically — it takes a few weeks.

EXPERIENCE VERIFICATION

How do you prove to the state you’ve been drilling wells for the last many years?

Easy as pie. Or cake. Which you can have and eat too.

I don’t get why you can’t have cake and also eat it.

It seems like the purpose of cake is to be eaten.

THE ANSWER.

You must have at least one person sign off on your state application stating that you have the necessary experience. This person should be your employer (that’s former or current), a fellow employee, or a client.

It can only be a client if you’re claiming that you’ve been self-employed.

Which is technically illegal.

You shouldn’t be doing construction work without your license.

BUT, if you have been, the state will count that towards your experience.

At the end of the day, they just want you to get licensed.

Description Of The C-57 License

A well drilling contractor installs and repairs water wells and pumps by boring, drilling, excavating, casing, cementing and cleaning to provide a supply of uncontaminated water.
