How do you get it?

General Manufactured Housing is a great license to get.

This is the exact definition by the state of Cali:

California Code of Regulations
Title 16, Division 8, Article 3. Classifications

(a) A general manufactured housing contractor installs, alters, repairs, or prepares for moving any type of manufactured home as defined in Section 18007 of the Health and Safety Code, any type of mobilehome as defined in Section 18008 of the Health and Safety Code, and any type of multifamily manufactured home as defined in Section 18008.7 of the Health and Safety Code, including the accessory buildings or structures, and the foundations. A manufactured home does not include any recreational vehicle, commercial coach, or factory-built housing as defined in Section 19971 of the Health and Safety Code

(b) A general manufactured housing contractor may provide utility services on a single-family individual site placement. Utility services mean the connection of gas, water, sewer, and electrical utilities to the home.

IT’S SO SIMPLE.

Even I can understand how getting a license works.

First Thing Is First.

You have to be 18 years or older.

You have to be able to legally work in the country, which means you have to have a valid SSN or an ITIN.

And you have to have four years of experience doing General Manufactured Housing.

If you have these things, you are set and ready to go.

Apply

You must apply to the state of California by sending an application to CSLB — the Contractors State Licensing board, along with a check for $330. Simple enough, right?

The application can be difficult to fill out but don’t worry, we provide application assistance as part of our services as a contractor license school.

Verify

Sign-off — you must have one person sign off on your application saying, verifying that you have the four years. This person can be a licensed contrator, a client, an architect, a business associate, someone you worked for or worked with.

Once the state has accepted your application they’re going to have you take two test.

One test covers the Trade of the C47.

One test covers the law — construction law, which includes contract law, bids, liens, stop notices, etc…
