But of course that has nothing to do with you. Or maybe it has everything to do with you. The entire point of the movie Signs is that we’re all destined for something. That God has a purpose and a plan in our lives, even in our pain.

Amen.

So, anyway, you’re a sign contractor and you’re trying to get your license.

We’ll I’m a writer and I’m trying to explain to you that we, Contractor License School, can help you get your license. And I’m going to break it down so you understand how the process works.

The basics.

According to the state, this is the definition of the C45 Sign License:

California Code of Regulations
Title 16, Division 8, Article 3. Classifications

A sign contractor fabricates, installs, and erects electrical signs, including the wiring of such electrical signs, and non-electrical signs, including but not limited to: post or pole supported signs, signs attached to structures, painted wall signs, and modifications to existing signs.

Point is, God made you to be great.

If you’re a sign contractor and you’re trying to level up, take the next step, strive, achieve, and accomplish, then getting your license is certainly in your destiny. And it’s definitely doable.

But How Do You Get The License?

Most people are shocked to find out that the process of getting your license (though it seems intimidating and difficult, and maybe in some ways it is) is actually relatively simple.

You must pass two tests with the state of Cali.

We love Cali, right?

Anyway, you have to pass a trade test and a law test.

Trade Test

The trade test is going to cover all things TRADE, and it’s not going to be hard for you because the main requirement for you to be able to get your license is that you have four years of experience in your trade.

Since you have at least four years of experience doing sign contracting, you’ll be able to pass the trade test, because it’s going to consist of questions relating to your trade.

We’re still going to give you trade study material — books, video, audio, practice tests — but for the most part you’re going to be able to pass this test easily enough.

By the way, it’s cool that you dabble in electrical and non-electrical and neon. I’m a fan of all of those things. Sign Contractors, as you may well know, also work with things like: Paint Booths, Shears, Benders, Welding Equipment and so much more.

Even lasers, I think.

Law Test

Hello.

The law test is harder than the trade test because it covers matters regarding construction law — things not usually discussed on job sites or coffee shops or gyms or hotel lobbies or Vegas.

Jokes aside (yes the above sentence was an attempt at humor, haha, funny, lol, thank you very much) most contractors find the law test a bit harder than the trade test.

But don’t worry. We’ve helped thousands of contractors pass this test.

ONCE YOU PASS THE TESTS

You get your license.

Who can take the test?

You.

If you have four years of experience.

And if you have a valid social security number or ITIN number.

And if you are over the age of 18.

If you have those things, you’re ready to go.
